A short film about the Kenyan World elite athletes visit to Bedford in June for community development initiatives. The project gained a London 2012 Inspire Mark accreditation.

Other activities in 2010 included;

-Hon Peter Kenneth Ass Minister Vision 2030 and Kenyan Presidential aspirant visits the Kenyan Community Bedford.
-Kenyan Community Bedford partners with BOOST to provide assistance for pre-camp training for athletes who will be based in Bedfordshire during London 2012 Olympics

-Kenyan Community Bedford mourns the death of its board member Peris Wahiga and former World Majors Marathon Champion Sammy Wanjiru who had many friends in Bedford.
-London Marathon-Kenyan Community Bedford plays a major role in providing the Kenyan athletes a home from home experience.

Kenyan Community Bedford’s young people’s club continues to register growth with adoption of the “Learning outside the Classroom” initiative to help raise attainment. Recently the club toured the CBBC experience at the BBC Television Centre, House of Commons, National Science Museum and the Royal Albert Hall. Click Here for more details

Sometimes people are reluctant to access the mainstream agencies when they are experiencing difficulties. By giving generic advice and offering signposting services, Kenyan Community Bedford acts as a bridge between
                ethnic minorities and the mainstream agencies.

Bedford Museum UK negotiates return of historical Kenyan cultural artefacts

Bedford Museum has negotiated the return to Kenya of historical cultural artefacts owned by a local family. A delegation from the Kenyan government, including the Hon. William Ole Ntimama, EGH, MP, the Minister of State for National Heritage and Culture, attended a special event at Bedford Museum on 28th October at 12pm to receive the objects. At hand to receive the high powered delegation which also included the Director General of National Museums of Kenya Mr Idle Omar was the board of trustees of the Kenyan Community Bedford and the local Kenyan Children.
